What goes on on a Sunday??
Not very impressed with the food here , tried it twice . Definitely not worth what the prices are , bar is ok .
MoreFun, casual bar with great selections and hit-the-spot tater tots.
Had been looking forward to trying this place for months and was extremely disappointed. The bartender was rude and unnatentive, didnt even give us water or offer. Demanded we open a tab and took my partners card even though we sat at a table meaning he was probably expecting us to dine and dash. He forgot to give us our card back and I had to get up and ask him for it because he never checked on our table. The garbage plate was literally a plate of garbage and way too expensive for the quality of what it was. Wish I could give 0 stars and won't be coming back here.
MoreGreat service, OVER-priced menu items. Typical prices for the neighborhood. Delicious food. Decent atmosphere.
MoreCool, low-key spot. They have a good selection of high end alcohol. Easy to have a conversation here.
MoreGood, not great. Service was kind, and the happy hour is excellent on the weekends. Wings were served cold. Minimal beer selection. Hot dog was good.
MoreGreat food - simple selection, but all of it amazing. Definitely try the award winning wings and the Daddy-O burger. It's worth it! Superb bartenders too. Great west village oasis from pretentious cafes or college crowd "dive" bars.
MoreThe best low-key bar in the west village. A classic staple of the area, great place to unwind.
MoreThe Corn meal crusted shrimp where a great value and very good. They had a little spicy heat to them. Probably the best buy for the buck. The online menu is not complete, tjere more options. A great crowd for this tiny place. I think I was the only one eating. The Sazerac was spot on for a classic drink.
MoreThis place is an EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE DIVE BAR. I asked the owner a question, and he said I don't have time for you, but then started to raise his voice and yell at me. Please save yourself and DO NOT go here.
MoreI'm giving bad rating for the over priced drinks. $15 for well drink coctails??! Nah! Food, I tried cheese quesadilla, very good!
MoreLived in Rochester for 5 years. This place in NYC make me happen because of Garbage Plates. Never ate a garbage plate with real silverware and a cloth napkin until coming to this place. Not the true Rochester experience but it's still damn good.
MoreCocktails are well make .. service is fast!
Small local spot with a great selection of whiskey.
Daddy-O appears to be an un noteworthy-looking bar in this part of Manhattan, but is in fact a hot dog destination. It was crowded and noisy when I went on a weekend night around 11pm. The bartenders were friendly and efficient though despite the volume of people. The most interesting thing here is the Rochester style hot dogs. What is a Rochester style hot dog? I didn’t know prior to coming here, and I’m still not entirely sure I do know, but Daddy-O’s Rochester style dog consisted of a huge mound of macaroni salad, somewhat spicy chili sauce, hot dogs that were sliced open- plus cheese- piled onto a large plate. Oh, and there were buns or bread of some sort, toasted, on the side. It was surprisingly delicious. I won’t go as far as saying it’s a new favorite of mine, but it’s definitely worth checking out.
MoreAwesome selection of bourbon with good prices, especially for NYC. Looking forward to going back.
MoreVery quaint and cozy. Low light, modern, prices are okay. If you're looking for a place to lay low in the Village, check this place out.
MoreMy favorite burger place!
This place is beyond what my friends and I expected! Phil and his team are exceptional! Thank you for a wonderful night!
MoreBest food in a bar in NYC.
Always love this bar, service is on point drinks are top shelf
Great place awesome owner phil you rock
Daddyo’s “The Plate” is the closest thing to a true Rochester garbage plate that I have found in NYC. Nice atmosphere, good service, a little pricey and soda refills were not free :( but in Greenwich Village that is to be expected. Overall great experience.
MoreThe waiter should learn to write the order down if he can't remember it. Food was ok, but not what I ordered. I even had to ask for the correct toppings and I got most of them.
MorePleasant place. Service was good. We asked for Irish coffee and they made us some, even if it wasn't on the menu. I think the cream was whipped (not from a can) which is always good.(next time put a coffee spoon in the Irish and it'll be pretty good)We wouldn't cross the town for this place in particular but if you want to take a break in the neighborhood I'd suggest this place.
MoreThey truly make a perfect cocktail. The bar food is amazing quality, the loaded tots are unreal. The only reason it isn't 5 stars is because if it is busy, sometimes a service can be slow because they are so meticulous. Also a Steelers bar so if youre not a fan, Sunday might not be your day to go.
MoreThe owner is incredibly rude and apparently doesn’t understand the concept of customer interactions or retention. The menu was misleading in implying that burgers and hotdogs would come with buns and when offering up that information for future customers he had the audacity to tell me and my friend that he’s been bartending longer than we’ve been alive and he couldn’t care less if we never came back (plus a few choice expletives). Makes sense that he’s been trying to sell the place and can’t get that done properly either...
MoreNot in my top 25 list of great wings. Staff was friendly but not attentive.
Great local spot for a pint, football and pub grub.
Good casual coworker happy hour spot — decent drink menu, decent quesadillas and apps, plenty of casual table seating and bar seating.
MoreExcellent interpretation of the famous Rochester Garbage Plate. A little more heat to the sauce than back home and somewhat smoky too. Ideal for late-night snack after a night of drinks but a perfect hangover cure as well. The staff are all great, it's rare in NYC to find people behind the bar who are both busy and happy. I will be visiting often.
MoreThere is no wonder why this place has been open 19 years. Everything is on point. .
MoreGreat atmosphere, get the plate, it's spicy and delicious
The burger is amazing... The dry rub wings also amazing... service good. Prices arnt the best but the food and service makes up for it... You get what you pay for...
MoreSmall bar good food. One of the best in the city.
One of the best no frills industry bars in new york city. A mainstay. Sick brown spirits selection and Best chicken sandwich in new york.
MoreAlways a treat to see Phil slinging drinks
Good selection of Whisk(e)y's! Ask for Phil he will take care of you!!
Friendly neighborhood spot in the West Village. Good music, friendly bartenders, and they have a decent menu for late night bar food. Check them out, you won't be disappointed.
MoreThis is a very nice little cocktail bar. Well worth a visit and when in the area that's exactly what I do..Drinks are on the expensive side but do tend to be strong with and. Interesting offering. The staff here are always a lot of fun. It's small and can get crowded but generally I have been able to get a table most times.
MoreTwo words: Hibiki Harmony. Ok, there are more words. This is a great little bar with minimal seating aside from barstools. The bartender, Andrew, is great to chat with and has all kinds of stories and tips. Stop by for happy hour, but try as many whisk(e)ys as you can... they have a fantastic selection.
MoreA taste of Rochester in NYC
Glug glug glug glug ahhhhhhhh that’s refreshing
Great bar with great staff and a cool owner who is actually from Rochester. I'm from Rochester too and the garbage plate is just like home, plus you can get a genny cream ale and a white hot.
MoreExcellent venue and fresh craft brews!
Service was great. The owner was the only thing that ruined the place, thus the 1-Star rating. The bartenders were great and I wanted to stay but the owner made me incredibly uncomfortable. He berated his employees in front of everyone, to the point where a customer could not order over him shouting. The employees were working as hard as they could but nothing was enough. The owner is worse than his beer selection.
MoreThis bar was super awesome... dont let the reviews scare you about the owner, we didn't run into him or anything but the bartenders were super nice, attentive and clean... the London Mule was delicious. Went in on a Saturday night and great music!! Rock-metal type.
MoreGreat bar that plays good 70s rock music
The Not-So-Good:It's pricey. And because they really work on making good drinks, they can take awhile. The Good:No one makes better drinks, the food is outstanding for bar, and more often than not there's a great looking girl to talk to. I used to post up in the corner by myself, and the night would come to me. Met a lot of friends there, bartenders included. It's one of the bars that makes me miss NYC every day.
MoreI used to frequent this restaurant over 10 years ago when worked close by. The shrimp and chicken sandwiches were out of this world. After no longer working near by I always longed to revisit there took me over 10 years but finally got back & took my grandson. Unfortunately it wasn't the same, the staff was great but the food was nothing like before. I guess it was unrealistic to think it would be the same. Whoever was the chef back then was awesome, the food then was so good I woulda been happy with the just tartar sauce, bread& spread(all made in house)! Ah the memory of it!! My grandson did enjoy the meal but for me it was such a let down, overpriced & so underwhelming. But the staff was very friendly& courteous but I no longer have to think about venturing there again for those past awesome shrimp& chicken sandwiches.
